How to Adopt a Siberian Husky from Southern Siberian Rescue:

New Homes, New Families, Happy Tails!!!

First,
find out if a Siberian Husky is the right dog for you. Siberians have many personality quirks that make them more of a challenge to own than other dogs, though the rewards are that much greater, too!

Second,
fill out our online adoption application, and e-mail it to us to begin the application process. If you would prefer to print out our form and mail it to us rather than doing this online, click here to download PDF Adoption Application.

Third,
after we check your references and decide whether to continue with the application process, we’ll schedule a homecheck to make sure your home is suitable for a Siberian.

Fourth,
if you’re approved, come to one of our outings or schedule appointments to meet individual dogs and decide which one is right for you!

Adoption fee:
Due to increasing veterinary costs, effective January 1, 2013, our adoption fee is $300. The adoption fee helps offset the costs of shelter fees, vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, microchips and any other medical expenses that need to be addressed with our foster dogs, i.e heartworm treatment, entropion, x-rays, etc.

Please note:
Siberian Huskies are not for everyone. One of the main reasons so many end up in shelters is that people adopt them for their beauty without realizing the large responsibility that comes with owning one. Therefore, if you are not approved, please don’t think we’ve decided you wouldn’t make a good dog owner. Many times, it’s just that we feel you would be better off with a different breed considering your current situation.
