About Jade

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Miss Jade graduated from the Nash Correctional New Leash on Life Program on April 2, 2008 and is now available for adoption. As with most Siberians, Jade was a bit stubborn with her training but her handler’s learned very quickly that she is treat motivated so that helped them a lot with her training. Jade knows sit, shake with both paws, down and kinda-sorta rollover! She also had fun with A-frames, teeter-totters and jumping through tires while in the program.

Jade She is a very affectionate girl and loves attention but she is not a kissy face kinda girl. She does well with her foster siblings and does romp and play in the back yard but also enjoys laying in holes and relaxing. She does not dig the holes, just takes advantage of them! Jade enjoys being outside and will play a cat and mouse chase game when it’s time to come inside. Her Foster Mom usually has to go out and "coax" her to come in with high pitched chatty praises. She has never challenged the 6’ privacy fence but it is hotwired at the bottom. Miss Jade is a gorgeous gray and white female with blue eyes. She weighs about 45 lbs. and her guestimated DOB is January 2005.

Jade does great in a crate and to date has not had an accident in the house. Although she does well with other dogs, she will most likely not do well with cats and smaller breeds as she does exhibit some prey drive. She has never been around kids while in our program but she will probably do fine with older children. She does have some resource guarding with food and high value treats that we are working on so toddlers may not be a good idea at this time.

All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered and on monthly heartworm preventative.
