Indigo is a sweet and charming 4 year old spayed female mix. She weighs 50 lbs and her DOB is 11/07/03. Indigo is current on her shots and receiving monthly heartworm preventative. She is house trained and knows her basic manners ("sit", "wait", etc.). Indigo is very friendly and gets along nicely with other dogs. She has also lived successfully with cats in the past. Plenty of exposure to children and LOVES people! She is easy to walk on leash and will return immediately when called whether in the yard or outside off leash (though the latter is not recommended).

Miss Indigo has lots of experience and training in harness and would enjoy running for a small (1-2 dog) recreational bikejor or scooter team. She is quite manageable, attentive and mindful of her musher, but does not have the speed or endurance to continue running with her present owner's competitive dryland team. That doesn't mean she has failed at anything. Her team mates go white knuckle fast. She can run unstressed for 5-8 miles per session and keeps a steady moderate pace. Perfect for a newbie to the sport!

Separation anxiety is Indigo's Achilles heel. She has been known to chew through chain link fencing and can escape pretty easily from a crate, but she crates well otherwise and actually seems to like having one. She will get into mischief if not securely contained when left behind. Ideally she would live with a family who has lots of time and attention
for her with minimal time alone. Extra measures may be needed to keep her securely contained when she must stay home while her family goes. A home visit will be required to ensure she will be kept secure and safe.

A donation of $150 to Southern Siberian Rescue will serve as Indigo's adoption fee. That comes with unlimited consultation on anything to do with her for her lifetime.
