About Bear

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Bear is a sweet, yet timid, female Siberian mix. We know her Mom is a purebred Siberian but no idea about Daddy. She has come around and opened up a great deal in her foster home but still gets spooked sometimes with loud noises or if she is approached too quickly or with quick movements. She will stand back and be cautious if people come to visit as well. Bear didn't have a lot of "human" contact prior to coming to us, only dog interaction, so she has great doggie skills but still is a little afraid of new people. Bear is tan and white with crystal clear blue eyes. She weighs 35 lbs. and her approximate DOB is May 2002.

Bear is fantastic in a crate, though she does have full house privileges because she is house trained and not destructive when out and about. She's not a kissy face kinda girl but does enjoy cuddling up in bed or on a couch. She does love to chew on approved toys. She also enjoys laying in the back yard and chewing on tree limbs and is equally content inside with chew toys. She does do some digging in the back yard but just for fun, not to get out. She does love to run and play with her foster siblings or take off by herself and sniff and smell.

Bear has not been tested with cats but her foster Mom thinks she will do okay with them. She is fine with young children as well but will enjoy a nice quiet home. Bear is a good Girl that will need a bit of time and patience to come out of her shell and adjust and be comfortable in her new home.

All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered and on monthly heartworm preventative. For additional information on Southern Siberian Rescue and Siberian Huskies, please visit
